Meet Kim!

Board Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner · Licensed Veterinary Technician · Trained Death Doula

Hi, I’m Kim, an Ayurvedic Practitioner, Veterinary Technician, and Death Doula located on Long Island, New York. I offer sacred, holistic care for people and animals at every stage of life, from healing and transformation to grief and the end of life.

My journey into this work didn’t begin in a classroom, it began in a hospital bed. I spent much of my early life navigating chronic illness, invasive medical procedures, and emotional trauma. For years, I felt like I was constantly being treated, but never truly seen. That changed when I found Ayurveda. For the first time, I was met with compassion, slowness, and a belief that healing was possible, not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually too.

I studied with the YogaVeda Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine, a program accredited by the Ayurvedic Accreditation Commission (AAC), and earned my title as a Board-Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner through the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA). Alongside my formal training, I have received specialized advanced training from Wahneta Trotter in classical Ayurvedic therapies including Abhyanga (therapeutic oil massage), Shirodhara (oil streaming therapy), Nasya (nasal therapy), and external Basti treatments. My Ayurvedic practice is grounded in making healing accessible and personal. I don’t believe in strict, one size fits all protocols. I believe in creating rituals and rhythms that actually fit your life. Whether we’re working on digestion, sleep, trauma, or energy, I always aim to meet you where you are, without shame or overwhelm.

Before Ayurveda, I worked in veterinary medicine. I’m a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I graduated and received my degree from Purdue University, accredited through the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). I’ve been in the field since 2008, and my clinical background taught me not just how to care for animals, but how to notice the quiet, the subtle changes, the sacred unspoken. I still bring that skill into everything I do, especially in my work with companion animals during end of life transitions.

I’m also a trained Death Doula through International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA), supporting both humans and animals through the sacred process of dying. This work is close to my heart. I know what it means to sit in the in-between, to hold someone’s hand as they let go, or to say goodbye to a beloved pet. Whether I’m offering legacy work, gentle oiling, vigil support, or post-death ritual, I approach death the same way I approach life: with tenderness, presence, and trust in the wisdom of the body.

My practice blends all of these paths, Ayurveda, veterinary care, and death work, into something deeply personal and ceremonial. I don’t see this as separate work. It’s all connected. It’s about remembering who we are, listening closely, and honoring each threshold we cross, in illness, in healing, and in letting go.

Wherever you are on your path, I’m here to walk with you.

What is an Ayurvedic Practitioner?

An Ayurvedic Practitioner is a trained professional who specializes in Ayurveda, a traditional system of medicine that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. They have knowledge of preventive healthcare, nutrition, lifestyle, herbal remedies, pathology, and disease management through traditional Ayurvedic medical science principles and practices. The practitioner typically tailors care to an individual's unique constitution.

What is a Veterinary Technician?

Veterinary technicians are often compared to nurses in human medicine because they play a similar role in animal healthcare. Just like nurses, they assist in treating, and caring for patients; in this case, animals. They take vital signs, run lab tests, administer medications, and help with procedures. Veterinary technicians also monitor animals under anesthesia, provide post-operative care, and educate pet owners about managing their pets' health. In essence, they're the hands-on healthcare providers that ensure animals receive the care and attention they need, much like nurses do for humans.

What is a Death Doula?

A death doula is a trained professional who provides compassionate, emotional, and practical support to individuals and their families during the end-of-life process. They assist with planning, offer comfort, and help navigate the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of dying. A death doula's role is to ensure a peaceful and personalized experience for the person passing, offering guidance, presence, and advocacy during this profound transition.

Using Ayurveda to sync with your inner seasons and daily flow

"Ayurveda teaches us that healing doesn’t always mean fixing, it often means remembering. Remembering how to listen, how to rest, how to return to the quiet wisdom of our own body.

My practice is rooted in this remembering. I believe that wellness is not about perfection, it’s about alignment. Whether you're navigating chronic health concerns, emotional overwhelm, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, I’m here to help you come back to your center with compassion and clarity.

While I support a wide range of conditions and needs, my deepest calling is to work with those who hold space for others, healers, caregivers, spiritual practitioners, and those recovering from burnout. You give so much to the world, and my work is about helping you come back to your own body, your own needs, and your own rhythms.

Through personalized Ayurvedic care, I help you rebuild from the roots, gently, sustainably, and soulfully.

I also hold sacred space at the end of life. I believe that death is a transition deserving of reverence. Whether you're preparing for your own death or walking beside someone else, I offer presence, ritual and care to support a more peaceful, grounded, and meaningful experience. There is still healing at the threshold.

My work is not about offering answers. It’s about creating space to listen, to your body, your spirit, and the seasons of your life."
