  • What should I expect for my appointment?
Once your Golden Map appointment is booked, I’ll send you a detailed intake form to complete prior to our meeting. During your appointment, we’ll review your responses together, and I’ll ask additional questions to gain a comprehensive understanding of your unique health story. During this appointment, I use multiple tools to understand your unique health story, including pulse and tongue reading, facial observation, and discussion of your daily rhythms and emotional patterns. *If you're receiving a Golden Threads pulse reading as a separate session, we'll focus specifically on the pulse to explore your current doshic state and energetic imbalances. These quick readings are great for insight and can be a powerful stand-alone tool or a check-in between longer sessions. During our initial appointment, I will offer a few key Ayurvedic principles to begin incorporating at home. As you start exploring these, I will carefully review all that has been discussed and examined, creating a comprehensive approach to support your healing journey. After our initial appointment, you’ll return for a follow-up Ayurvedic Wisdom & Nourishment appointment where we’ll thoroughly review remedies on diet, lifestyle, herbs, and practices. After this, Golden Compass sessions will be scheduled as needed to support you. During each session, we’ll discuss how you’re doing physically and mentally, making any necessary adjustments. Please consult your doctor before making any changes to your current routine. Remember, you’re welcome to reach out to me anytime between sessions. I’m always here to support you.
  • What happens during a pulse reading?
Ayurvedic pulse reading (Nadi Pariksha) is a subtle, ancient diagnostic tool that allows me to assess the balance of your doshas, the energies governing your body and mind. During the session, I gently place my fingers on your wrist and listen deeply to the qualities of your pulse. This reveals your constitution, imbalances, emotional patterns, and the state of your body’s inner systems. It’s a quiet, powerful experience that helps guide your care with clarity and precision.
  • Are supplements or herbal remedies necessary? Do I need to buy them?
Can supplements and herbal remedies support your health journey? Absolutely! But are they necessary or required? Not at all. We can make great progress without them. If you're concerned about purchasing herbal remedies, rest assured that many of the herbs I recommend are likely already in your kitchen. While I may suggest additional products, they are entirely optional, and we’ll work with whatever you’re comfortable with. Please consult your doctor before making any changes to your current routine.
  • I’d like to book an appointment, but I can’t afford it. What options do I have?
I strive to make my services and recommendations as affordable as possible for everyone. If the cost of my services is beyond your budget, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I’m more than happy to work with you, whether it’s by breaking up fees across sessions or using a sliding scale. I’m here to help make this accessible for you.
  • Is an Ayurvedic lifestyle hard to stick to?
For many, adopting an Ayurvedic lifestyle can be both manageable and rewarding. Ayurveda emphasizes a personalized approach, allowing you to tailor practices to your unique preferences and needs. Its principles often focus on whole, natural foods, making meals enjoyable and satisfying. As you begin to experience positive effects, like improved digestion and increased energy, this can further motivate you to continue. The flexibility of Ayurvedic practices makes it easy to adapt them to your lifestyle. Plus, routines such as daily self-massage and herbal teas are simple to incorporate, enhancing your overall well-being.
  • When will I notice a difference?
The time it takes to feel better with Ayurveda can vary significantly based on individual needs, the severity of health concerns, and adherence to the recommendations given after your consultation. Many people notice improvements in digestion, energy levels, mood, and sleep patterns within a few weeks. However, for more substantial changes, particularly with chronic conditions or deep emotional healing, it often requires a few months of consistent practice. Remember, consistency is key to achieving lasting benefits.
  • Do I need to purchase a lot of expensive food items to follow the recommended diet?
You don't need to purchase a lot of expensive food items to live an Ayurvedic lifestyle. Most of the foundational Ayurvedic foods, such as grains, fruits, vegetables, legumes, and spices, are accessible and affordable at regular grocery stores. Focusing on seasonal and locally available foods help keep costs down while ensuring freshness and quality. Many Ayurvedic practices rely on common spices like turmeric, cumin, and ginger, which are relatively inexpensive and can enhance both flavor and health. By prioritizing foods that suit your dosha and health goals, you can make informed choices without overspending.
  • (HUMAN) Can you help me plan my own death while I’m still well?
Yes. In fact, this is one of the most empowering things you can do. I can help clients with advance care planning, legacy projects, and rituals for embracing life while preparing for a peaceful transition. It’s never too early to begin thinking about how you’d like to be cared for, or remembered.
  • (HUMAN) What does a typical session with you look like?
Each session is personalized to your needs and where you are in the dying process. It may involve quiet presence, conversation about fears or legacy, support in creating ritual, gentle touch, breath guidance, or help preparing for what's to come. For some, it’s deeply practical, for others, it’s deeply spiritual. My role is to meet you where you are and walk beside you.
  • (HUMAN) When is the right time to start working with a death doula?
There is no wrong time. Some people begin this work after receiving a terminal diagnosis, while others feel called to explore it long before death is near. I also work with families and caregivers at any stage. The earlier we begin, the more space we have to create meaning, comfort, and peace, but even in the final hours, sacred care is always possible.
  • (HUMAN) Are your end of life care services a replacement for hospice or medical care?
No. My work is complementary, not medical. I work alongside hospice teams or other providers to offer deeper emotional, spiritual, and ritual support. Think of a death doula as the one who holds your hand, listens deeply, and helps make meaning of what can otherwise feel overwhelming or clinical.
  • (ANIMAL) Do you offer medical care for animals?
I don’t provide medical treatment, that’s your veterinarian’s role. My work complements medical care by offering holistic and spiritual support. As a licensed veterinary technician, I understand clinical care deeply, but my current role is focused on comfort, ceremony, and compassionate presence.
  • (ANIMAL) How do you work alongside my veterinarian during my pet’s end of life care?
My role is to provide non medical and holistic support that complements the clinical care your veterinarian provides. I do not diagnose, prescribe, or perform euthanasia. Instead, I can work in collaboration with your veterinary team by: Helping you prepare emotionally and spiritually for the process Supporting the creation of a peaceful, intentional environment before or during euthanasia (home or clinic) Offering calming presence and comfort touch during the transition Guiding rituals, storytelling, or gentle ceremonies before or after passing Helping with body-honoring practices, memorials, or grief support for your family If your veterinarian welcomes it, I can be present during the euthanasia procedure as an emotional and spiritual support person. My intention is to help you feel less alone, more grounded, and held in love, so you can be present with your animal in a deeply meaningful way.
  • What if I’m afraid to talk about death?
You're not alone. Many people carry fear, discomfort, or resistance when it comes to death, especially in a culture that tends to avoid it. Part of my work is creating a gentle, judgment-free space to explore those feelings. You don’t need to have the right words or feel ready, you just need to show up. I’ll be with you through the unknown.
